NM EPSCoR Materials Science and Nanotechnology Workshop
October 26-28, 2006
New Mexico Highlands University
Las Vegas, NM
The workshop included an introduction to materials science and nanoscience and laboratory exercises to provide teacher-participants with inquiry-based opportunities to explore properties of nanomaterials. Participants received and built a hydrogen fuel cell car kit, explored activities with the car, and participated in a competition with other attendees. As a culminating event, teachers were involved in a debate on embryonic stem cell research and applications.
