Happy Summer! Diversity has been the word here at NM EPSCoR’s office during the month of May. I am excited to share that our Diversity Team is in the midst of creating our very own Diversity Strategic Plan. Five diversity advocates from across the state joined the Diversity Team to focus and strategize NM EPSCoR’s diversity work. I will share this document with you when it is finalized on our Diversity page by the end of this month.

Diversity also kicked off our annual All Hands Meeting with small group conversations about diversity challenges and possible approaches. Over 100 participants came up with 25 ideas (see photo below) that will support our Diversity Strategic Plan. Thanks everyone for participating!

Lastly, I’d like to send out a big thank you to our new Diversity Liaisons – Juchao Yan, Hongmei Luo, Tie Wei, Bruce Thomson, Dan Cadol, Mark Person, Jesslyn Ratliff, and Karl Benedict. These individuals will be the link between their research teams and the Diversity Coordinator, me. I am looking forward to working with these folks to achieve our diversity goals!
